I've come here for the past couple of years and have had a great experience every time. Takes about 30 minutes to go through my exam and get my contacts ordered. The staff are polite and... professional. Dr. McClay is great, he's easy to talk to and cares about his patients.read more

Dr. McClay’s office is very professional. Also, they make sure you get seen in a timely manner. I also appreciate the lady who helped me with my glasses, I can’t remember her name but she was... very helpful and made me feel comfortable with asking her for her opinions. She also offered me a special package for my lenses to help me at night so I really appreciate that as well. She was the highlight of my visit. Thank you allread more

My visit was great as always. I thought I had annual appointment but turned out I didn't. I told the reception clerk (sorry I don't remember your name) about my issue I was having with my glasses.... The clerk pulled my information and seen my glasses was still under warranty. She put a replacement order in and show me the itemized receipt if I didn't have the warranty. Saved me over $200 I told the clerk thanks and she gave me a pleasant experience.read more

**warning- graphic picture. Horrible experience. I was charged for services I was not told about before they were done. If it's not covered by insurance, you need to let a patient know beforehand. I... was not told I was going to be dilated. The doctor put whitening drops in my eyes without telling me first or asking if it was okay. Luckily I had my sunglasses and was able to drive back to work. But because I was dilated, it made work very difficult the rest of the day. And the doctor barely looked in my eyes after putting the drops in. Then, the doctor put my contacts in for me. He didn't ask. Didn't give me the opportunity to put them in myself. My first thought was why is he putting his fingers in my eyes? Then I worried about whether or not his hands were sanitary. I brushed it off because he's a doctor. Surely he washed his hands. But I should have listened to my instincts. He wasn't wearing gloves, and I didn't see him wash his hands. Two days later my eyes felt a bit off. The day after that, I developed an eye infection. I saw a regular doctor because it was the weekend, who gave me antibiotic drops. My eyes got worse. Swelling to the point I could barely open them. And then a bubble formed on my eyeball. Like a blister. So I went to a different optometrist. He did a very thorough exam, and saw signs of both bacterial and viral infections. I had to be prescribed a whole different eye drop. One that was antibiotic and steroid for the swelling. My eyes are finally starting to make improvements. But I want to point out I have been wearing contacts for 21 years. I never touch my contacts without thoroughly scrubbing my hands first. I do tend to wear them more days than I should, but I absolutely do clean them nightly. I have never had an eye infection before this. I am OCD about the care of my contacts. And this is why. I am beyond angry. This is days of pain and misery. Unexpected costs of the exam on top of added costs of two doctor visits and two medications. The staff is great. The doctor was horrible. 0 out of 5 stars. Will never go back.read more

The ladies at the front desk were very friendly and polite. The young lady who took pictures of my eyes and gave me a couple of test was also friendly and nice. When I met Dr. McClay he also was... nice and helpful to my individual situation. Overall really wonderful experience. I would recommend this place to anyone.read more

Love Dr. Michael. He is very knowledgeable, he explains well and he has a nice personality. The office staff could improve by being more organized.

I have been seeing Dr. McClay for years. I started there because I worked next door. My office moved, but I can't imagine going to another eye doctor. I love the staff at Apex

Worst eye vision clinic ever ever. Due to my safety glass missing, I need to a replacement asap. I was told it takes 2-3 weeks to receive the glasses. After 2 weeks, I made a call and then they said... it takes 2-4 weeks. For safety issue, I call them every 3days to check out the status and drove their store every weekend. This week will be the fouth week and I did not get yet. They said their lab is mounting on the frame and take 3-5 days to arrive here by USP ground. Do they care about their patient? I do not think so. Whatever I asked them to expedite the process, their answer is nagative. This is very very very frustrate place ever I meet. I will also report my experience hopefully to other places but please avoid this place.read more

Worst optometrist and eye vision clinic ever ever. Think Twice before you go there. They show absolutely no care for their patients and all they want is to finish the exam quickly and send you to... their glass department so they can make more money. After the nurse did all the routine, my eye exam with the optometrist only lasted 5 min including pupil dilation and my prescription was ready. I have had eye exam before never one was like this and I even doubt if this is legit... Even worse, I had a "black eye" due to basketball playing when I visited but NO ONE ever ever asked what happened to my eye - THEY HAVE been examining my eyes all time and no one including the optometrist ever asked. I had my dentist the same day and the first thing my dentist asked was my eye and I had my ENT appt the second day and the first thing she asked was also my eye because they show they care. Apex, of course I never brought up I need any attention to my black eye, but as a health provider and vision center show some care! It is hard to believe you truly care your patient in this way... I will also report my experience hopefully to other places but please avoid this place.read more

The staff is very friendly and professional. I am a 10 year customer of Dr McClay. The staff always keep me up with the latest fashion. Mrs Linda always works here magic with me. Exceptional staff!

I really am impressed with the customer service that I was given by Mrs. Patsy Adams. She was able to answer all questions that I had and also was very knowledgeable about the eyes and also eye... glasses I will definitely recommend to friends and family to visit and a special request for Mrs. Adams!!!!!
